The Friends of 3rd Ashton is a committee comprising of parents who’s children attend (or used to!) our Scout Group. It’s main purpose is a way for parents to assist the Group Exec and we do this by:
- helping to publicise its efforts
- lending a hand when required around the hut
- fund raising and organising social events
Our social events are intended to be as inclusive as possible, rather than money making exercises. We organise separate events to raise money, notably the annual Plant Sale in the spring.
Can You Help?
Over the years we have welcomed many new members, but as children have moved on, we have also lost some – Therefore, we are always actively looking to recruit new members. We meet at 8PM on the third Monday of every month in the Old Plough in Ashton-upon-Mersey village. The aim is to finish business within an hour or so; some people then stay on to socialise. Why not talk to a leader or just pop in and say hi?
